Day 1 (D) Bodhinagala Forest Hermitage Bird Walk - Sinharaja Forest Reserve Very early this morning after your breakfast at your property located in Negombo or Colombo, by 5.00am, you will depart in direction to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve and on the way, we head 1h30min to 2h drive to Bodhinagala Forest Hermitage, nestling on the bank of the Kalu Ganga, this natural rainforest shields the buddhist hermitage from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, providing a serene environment for the meditating monks. Build up by amazing patch of wilderness complete with gentle slopes, crafting ridges and peaks shelter the Bodhinagala Monastery and some endemic creatures as the rare & shy Green-billed Coucal, Yellow-Fronted Barbet without forgotten the most visible mammals as Wildboar, Purple-faced Leaf, Toque Monkeys and Grizzled Indian Squirrel. After this stop over we will get back on the road for Sinharaja and its rainforest. At your arrival at your lodge set up at the border of the most untouched rainforest, proceed to your check in, take a time for resting or enjoy the scenery and location offered by this property, rest of the night free & easy. Day 2 (B-L-D) Sinharaja Endemic Birding & Wildlife Walk - Udawalawe National Park Perfect Biosphere Reserve declarer Unesco World Heritage in 1988. Being the most important biodiversity site in the whole Sri Lanka (also internationally important for Tropical Biodiversity). Famous for its birds waves, Sinharaja comprises Lowland & Submontane wet evergreen forest with Submontane Patana Grasslands in the East. A staggering 64% of the tree species are endemic to Sri Lanka. Numerous Orchids & Pitcher plants are currently seen. Early morning, after your early breakfast depart for a walk all the way to late lunch into the Rainforest of Sinharaja to spot endemic birds as well as wildlife. Pass through large path, river side & jungle incursion to venture yourself into the heart of this untouched rainforest which is only 21 km (13 mi) from east to west, and a maximum of 7 km (4.3 mi) from north to south, but it is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Because of the dense vegetation, wildlife is not as easily seen as at dry-zone national parks such as Yala. There are about 3 elephants, and 15 or so leopards. The most common larger mammal is the endemic purple-faced langur, huge varieties of birds (with the highest number of endemic) also interesting mixed of Amphibians & Reptiles. You will be back to your lodge for late lunch, then you will take back the road to the border of Udawalawe NP. Day 3 (B-L-D) Udawalawe National Park Wildlife Sunrise Safari - Beach time between unawatuna & Tangalle Very early this morning, by 5am, you will embark into a 3-4hrs Sunrise 4x4 journey within Udalawale National Park recognize for its number of elephants hearses living in the permises.From the time you will be introduce inside this amazing open grassland savannah, loads of birds will be able to spot especially close to the reservoir without forgotten the possibility to spot crocodile too. During your ide, you will encounter individual as well as hearses of elephants from baby to old mammal which can be spot easily. By 10am, you will head back to your property in Udalawale. for breakfast. After your breakfast, at 10 am, you will take the direction of your beach property between Mirissa to Tangalle (Unawatuna/Weligama/Matara/Talalla/Dikwella). Along the way, we will stop at an archaeological site, the Mulgirigala Raja Maha Viharaya, where you will climb to the top of this mountain where numerous temples (7 temples exactly) to allow you to understand the deep culture of Sri Lanka, have been established in different point of the ascent. At its summit enjoy a breathtaking view of the region. On your return, we will take the road to your final destination of the day. Day 4 (B-L) Morning Catamaran Sailing Whale Watching Safari (ONLY AVAILABLE BETWEEN DECEMBER TO APRIL) ou Free Morning Beach Time (MAY TO NOVEMBER) - Colombo International Airport (From December to April ONLY) Between 4:30 am and 5:00 am, we will check out, then you leave for the port of Mirissa where you will have the possibility of recovering your catamaran to embark on a cruise of approximately 7 hours researching whales and dolphins in order to be able to meet them in their natural habitat. By 6.30 am departure towards the whales. Along the way our chef serves a freshly prepared breakfast including fresh fruit, when whales are sighted guests are invited to the bow and upper decks for the best viewing of these incredible creatures. After enjoying the whales, you will head towards Weligama Bay where the yatch anchors near the Snake & Trapobane Islands, perfect setting to enjoy swimming, paddle, snorkeling and getting your lunch before getting back to the port of Mirissa. Then we will proceed to take the direction of Colombo International Airport for you to be able to catch your flight OR (From May to November ONLY) After your breakfast, you will be free and easy to enjoy your property, the beach around until the time for departure. After process to your check out you will get back on the road to Colombo International Airport (if your flight happen to be night time, we will have the time to make a stop to Galle for a city tour of the old town) If you desire to spend an additional night at your beach property for you to take some more time to chill and enjoy your adventure as you are not rushing back home, please let us know we will be glad to make it happen for you. What to Bring? Head lamp, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera (if you have a DSLR with one 300mm lense to capture some wildlife & bird close up will be a plus), dry bag, money, change of clothes, swimwear, sea sickness tablets, Pareo, water bottle, toiletries, own medical treatment, basic first aid kit, very good light trekking shoes (Salomon X trail for example), anti-transpirant socks, light clothes for the treks easy to dry fast, one sweater for the night as the temperature could go down at the Sinharaja Forest Reserve Things you should know! Cell phone coverage could be sometime not available. Outdoor activities are subject to weather conditions, and may be re-organised in the event of bad weather. For the Catamaran Sailing Whale Watching - We plan to sail rain or shine, so please check the forecast and be sure to dress for the weather. In the event the Captain deems the sailing conditions unsafe, such as thunderstorms or extremely high winds, we will have to cancel it and replace it by another activity or if you extend the beach stay post-poned it another day (no refund). Seeing whales and any others wildlife (elephant, leopard, sloath bear,...) is never guaranteed. They are the end of the day land & marine mammals that are unpredictable, so it is up to what to show themselves. There is no refund if the wildlife decide not show If you are prone or unaware you get seasick, you will need to ensure you have sea sickness tablets before departure.   • If you smoke, never throw your cigarette butts on the ground or in the forest – dispose of them in ashtrays or bins
  • During outdoor and nature activities, take your cues from the expert local guides. Follow their instructions when observing wildlife. Be aware that you may need to take extra care in these areas to respect the natural environment.
